Punjab: SI and ASI booked for leaving drug lord by taking Rs. 20 lakh as bribe

Two teams under the SP (D) Ramninder singh has been constituted to crack the case , which made raids at various places to nab the accused under that ASI Parmjit singh and Onkar Singh have been arrested.

SSP Sandhu made it clear that the Punjab police will make all our efforts against the drugs besides ensuring strict action against the erring officials who are indulged in anti social activities. (File, Representational)

SI and ASI booked for leaving drug lord by taking Rs. 20Lakh as bribe ASI and middle man arrested – LOC issued against SI.

SSP Kapurthala Rajpal Singh Sandhu said that few days back Jalandhar Rural police arrested a person named Gujral singh @ Joga, resident of village Boot and it was came to noticed of Jalandhar police that before getting arrested by Jalandhar police , he was deliberately left by SI Harjit singh Thana Kotwali kapurthala and ASI Parmjit singh incharge police chowki Badshahpur by taking Rs. 20 lakh as bribe via middle man onkar singh @ Kari,resident of village boot .

After getting this information, SSP Kapurthala Sandhu said that , a case has been registered against SI Harjit singh and ASI Parmjit singh under sections 222/120B of Prevention of corruption act 1988 at police station Subhanpur on dated June 20,2023 as they left a drug smuggler by taking a bribe of Rs. 20 lakh .

He also said that a LOC has been issued against the SI Harjit singh besides making constant efforts to arrest Harjit singh .

Some cash and bank documents have also been seized from their places which are under investigation.

Gujral singh has been already facing various cases at different police stations related to drugs etc .
